Summer Solstice Event 23 June 2007

Posted 06 June 2007 (To various area non-profits...)
Your organization is invited to set up an educational or information booth at the Solstice event to be held at the Morro Bay State Park campground picnic area on June 23, 2007 from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM.  If you are not available the entire time, we would be glad to have you for any portion of the day’s event.  This event will be open to the public, and will be an excellent way for you to be exposed to the public and get your message across. In 2006 more than 350 people attended the event.  The event is sponsored by California State Parks, put on primarily by State Park Docents, and supported with funding from Central Coast Natural History Association.  The Museum of Natural History, Pismo Nature Center, and various Docent hands-on activities will be set up for families during the day.

If you plan to attend, please bring any tables, chairs, canopies, display boards, etc. that you will need for the day.  Please also bring food and water, as we no longer have use of the Sector Office/former Docent House as in years past.  Park staff and/or Docents will be on hand after 8:30 AM on June 23 to direct you to display areas.  Presenters are permitted to park at the picnic area and to enter the campground at no charge.  We recommend driving in the park residence/service entrance instead of the main campground entrance.  To reach this entrance, take South Bay Blvd. to State Park Rd. in Morro Bay, marked by a brown sign indicating Morro Bay State Park.  Stay on the lower section of the road, i.e. take the left fork and do not take the road up to the Morro Bay Golf Course clubhouse.  Continue around a curve and take the first right after a small gravel parking lot.  Drive to the gate and identify yourself—someone will open the gate for you.  Please let us know if you need further directions.

Please RSVP to Jerry Stanley via jerry_stanley at sbcglobal.net or Rouvaishyana, Museum Manager at 772-2694 ext. 105 or via  r at hearstcastle.com
